December 2023 Youth Newsletter
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Jeremiah 33:14-16
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
What a way to start the Holiday season; fresh snow to go along with advent! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you're ready for the Advent season. We have an awesome Advent guide available at church and online that we hope will help everyone appreciate the wonder and joy of the Christmas season and the reason we celebrate it: Jesus!
We've got a lot of stuff happening in the first half of the month, and then an extended two week break due to the day/dates of Christmas/New Years' this year.
First up we have some special activities for our regular youth nights on the 10th and 13th. Instead of our regular games/activities we'll be heading offsite in the vans for a Christmas light scavenger hunt.
We'll be pushing our times back just a little for those activities, 6pm-9pm on the 10th for high school and 6pm-8:30pm on the 13th for middle school! There is no sign-up required for that, but we'd appreciate it if parents could fill out a transportation/activities waiver for your student if you haven't done so before!
Then, on the 17th, we have our all-youth Christmas party! We've got a lot of fun activities planned, including our much beloved White Elephant Bingo, so be sure to sign-up for that, find something to wrap and bring, and join us for a fun and festive time before our Christmas break!
Finally, we are "off" for two weeks, from Wednesday the 20th until Sunday the 31st because of the day/date combinations for the holidays this year. We will have a couple of special activities during that break though, including a couple of opportunities to volunteer/serve, and hopefully a sledding day if the weather cooperates and we get some snow during Christmas break!
You can find a detailed schedule below and details on events on our events page HERE.
As always, you can check the youth page on the website for our weekly schedule and monthly snapshot, or feel free to email me if you want more info or have questions!
